A whole day in the Gross-Hu(o)feisen-Haslital began with a line we'd had in mind for some time. Spontaneously, Jonas Schild and I set off with the idea of crossing the Engelhorn West Group - South Group - and, after crossing the Rosenlaui Glacier, the large and small Wellhorn.

Jonas knew the terrain up to the highest Engelhorn, the Gstellihorn. From there it was unknown terrain and adventure for both of us!

We covered about 3 kilometers of altitude and climbing meters and several kilometers of distance in beautiful terrain that was not difficult, but at times loose and tricky. Shortly before midnight our weather window came to an end and we were surprised by a thunderstorm. We sought refuge in a sheltered area below the last summit before continuing our descent to the Kleiner Wellhorn. In the light of our headlamps, we reached the valley floor tired and happy.
